Christine “Chrissy” POLLITHY

Candidate for Voting Member of the World Scout Committee
Dear friends in Scouting, I am pleased to stand for election for the World Scout Committee. I have been a Scout since my childhood. Scouting has provided me with the aspiration to understand the world for what it is and to carry a vision for what it could be. The world around us is changing fast and so are the realities of young people: just to mention the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic or the challenges to sustainable living. Young people deserve a Scouting programme which, deeply rooted in our values, evolves to meet the challenges of a new generation. My motivation to serve the world’s leading educational youth movement on the World Scout Committee is simple: I want to ensure that Scouting remains a relevant space for young people to become fulfilled active citizens who contribute to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world. Having served in many national, regional and global Scouting roles, I have developed a good understanding of the challenges Regions and National Scout Organizations are facing in bringing better Scouting to more young people. I am ready to serve the movement towards Vision 2023 and beyond.
