Jo DEMAN

Candidate for Voting Member of the World Scout Committee
I have experienced first-hand the potential of Scouting to change lives and empower young people. As witnessed by the values I’ve gained, the skills I’ve learned and the friendships I’ve built. I wish to continue serving the World Scout Committee to ensure we are able to provide that same incredible, empowering experience to more young people everywhere. The creativity and resilience of young Scouts and National Scout Organizations (NSOs) across the world, who stepped up to support their communities and continued to provide Scouting during this global pandemic, has only strengthened my belief in that unbridled potential of our Movement. Your work keeps inspiring me to continuously live up to that promise to provide every young person with the opportunity to join the adventure that we call Scouting. I am keen to work hard to increase our support to NSOs, strengthen our organisational resilience to meet the challenges ahead, recover the lost membership and continue our journey to growth. Vision 2023 has brought us far as a Movement and I remain committed to implementing it fully. As we look towards building our next Strategy for Scouting, the best foundation for our united future is achieving our current targets and meeting our shared goals.
