The 42nd World Scout Conference voted today to award the Egyptian Scout Federation the right to host the 43rd World Scout Conference in 2024. The next Conference in Egypt will build on the decisions taken during 42nd World Scout Conference to increase youth engagement and continue to innovate World Scouting’s convening of Member Organizations. Later this week the Conference is scheduled to discuss proposals to further integrate the objectives of the World Scout Youth Forum into the next governance meetings of the world’s leading educational youth Movement.
The Egyptian Scout Federation were appointed hosts of the 43rd World Scout Conference following the decision to convene the 42nd World Scout Conference and 14th World Scout Youth Forum virtually. These events were initially planned to take place in Egypt in 2020. The renewed bid presented by the Egyptian Scout Federation was welcomed by the delegates of the Conference.
The World Scout Conference is the governing body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The Conference, which takes place every three years, provides an opportunity for Member Organizations to play an active role in shaping the standards, policies and shared goals of the Scout Movement worldwide. The World Scout Youth Forum happens in advance of the Conference, giving young people a platform to learn new skills and be involved in decision-making processes.
The provisional dates for the 15th World Scout Youth Forum have been set for 12 to 16 August 2024, followed by the 43rd World Scout Conference provisionally set to take place from 19 to 23 August 2024.
